We attended a few times quite a while back somewhere around 2014 or 2015. It's a conservative church overall which we would normally be interested in; especially a body of Christians that follow and preach scripture. At the time, we weren't impressed with the preaching, especially on the last occasion when apparently one of the top teachers spoke.

We noted the song selection and music was purposely toned down dramatically; it really wasn't inspiring to us and would have preferred either a great hymn or something more modern but not garbage like Hillsong or various other worship junk used in many fallen away Christian churches. Regardless, plenty of people were singing the toned down songs and many were in attendance. We just felt it wasn't the place for us and felt everything was perhaps too focused at looking at the front of the room. Seats were all stretched straight across the large room, everyone seated straight forward like in a military fashion, eyes to the front, stand up, sit down, listen.

There were plenty of different age groups, including quite a few college age in attendance. While it wasn't a hit for us, it apparently was so for plenty of others.

I noted that the leaders / teachers made it a point to read lots of books and make it known that they do so as well. They even place the book list or worded it in their profile of what they are currently reading on the website. Reading is normally a good thing but whatever they were reading, in my view, wasn't helping matters. If I remember correctly, they mentioned their book reading briefly at each and every service we attended. It just seemed odd to me.

    Stick to preaching the Bible.

Maybe you'll like the "church" You'll have to decide for yourself. As I said earlier in my review, we visited quite a while back so I don't know whether things have changed since then.

It is disturbing to me that that this "conservative" group is yet another one using corrupt Bibles. Why don't they have more sense than that? Maybe they are infiltrated by wolves so to speak. I checked to see what Bible version Faith Bible Church is currently using as of March 2017. At least on their website, they are using one of the many Vatican influenced perversions of scripture, the ESV version.
The corrupt Vatican influenced translations, such as ESV, make Jesus sound like He lied to his brothers when they asked Him if He would go up to Jerusalem (John chapter 7:8-10). Jesus had to remain sinless to be a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Interesting that the modern translations want to make Jesus out to be a sinner / liar when they translate from Vatican picked manuscripts. Stick with the KJV. Apparently, the leaders here are ignorant or blind. Regardless, they need to research this subject immediately. A twisted Scripture here and there does matter.

The ESV along with many others take the word "YET" out of scripture. This is only one of 1,000's of subtle twists in these translations. Compare John chapter 7 (KJV) to modern versions in the seats at whatever "church" you attend and you'll be shocked. Also: compare Luke 23:42, 1 Cor. 1:18, Mark 10:24, Acts 3:26 to KJV. Once you figure this out you will want to to demand the teachers stop using them,. Note: NIV keeps changing (for the worse) every edition.

I'd appreciate it if other people would add honest reviews of this "church" and tell whether my review was accurate, if they have improved or not.

  • One God, One Scripture, One Salvation, One Body with the local church as its expression through God's many saints, with One Fellowship through Jesus Christ alone.
